What are cosmetic injections?
Cosmetic injections include dermal fillers and injectables – prescription treatments that reduce the signs of aging, such as wrinkles, lines and sagging skin. There are several formulas used to correct specific issues in a quick, non-invasive manner. The result is smoother skin and a more youthful and rested appearance. The appropriate dermal filler or injectable is determined during a consultation.

How are Dermal Fillers and Injectables Administered?
At the start of your appointment, we may apply a topical anesthesia if necessary to prevent any discomfort during your injectable filler treatment. Immediately following that, we inject the filler or injectable into the targeted areas to diminish or erase fine lines and wrinkles. The extent of the treatment depends on the depth of the lines and wrinkles. If the lines are fine and close to the surface of the skin, the filler is injected into the outermost skin layers; however, if we treat deeper lines or creases, the filler must be injected deeper into the skin to correct the imperfections. Dr. Schwartz is a diplomate of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery and has extensive training to properly inject fillers and injectables so that the results are natural looking and not overdone.
How is the Recovery from Dermal Fillers and Injectables?
Most patients return to normal activities immediately following their treatments and have no issues at all. The only exception is with fat transfer injections where we recommend a couple of days of rest depending on where the fat was taken.
